Test Plan Approval and Signoff in TestOps

TestOps provides a streamlined way to manage test plan approvals through the Test Summary Report feature. This process ensures all stakeholders are aligned and can formally approve the outcomes of a test plan.

Accessing the Test Summary Report

In the Test Plan view page, you will find the "Generate Test Summary Report" button. Clicking this will redirect you to the Report Details page, where a comprehensive overview of your testing activities is displayed.

Contents of the Report

The Test Summary Report includes:

  • Test Case Summary Results

  • Test Incident Summary Results

  • Detailed Test Execution Results

  • Defect List

  • Resource Assignments (responsible testers)

  • Approval Section (multi-approver support)

Approval Workflow

  1. In the "Approved By" section, you can select one or more approvers for the report.

  2. After reviewing the report details, you have two options:

    • Cancel – Exit without submitting the report.

    • Apply – Send the report to selected approvers for their review and signoff.

Upon clicking Apply, a success message confirms the report has been submitted for approval.

Approver Actions

Approvers will receive a notification to review the report. They can:

  • Add comments

  • Approve or Reject the report

Once all approvers have taken action, the decision (Approved/Rejected) and their comments will be visible directly on the Test Plan view page.

Note: Once the test plan is approved or rejected, notifications will be automatically triggered. The decision and details of each approver will be clearly displayed for transparency. Additionally, the finalized Test Summary Report can be downloaded for offline reference or archival purposes.
